To The Show That Never Ends
We're so glad you could attend, come inside come inside....
OK, small apologies to Emerson, Lake, Palmer and Sinfield. But only small ones until they apologize for their prog rock excesses over the last 30+ years.
So... if you are reading this, you may well be asking yourself where has SCSI been for the last few months.
Possibly you have seen me on other blogs, posting and commenting irregularly. Possibly you have not. Possibly you have never been here and wonder what I am talking about.
Here is the short round up of what I have been doing, and it should give a partial explanation of why I have not been blogging.
- School
Yep. Still taking night courses. None have been hard, but all have been time consuming. And it is hard to avoid procrastinating when dealing with subject matter you have lived with for over a decade. Or worse, you are being taught obsolete practice/theory out of an outdated textbook by a professor that never stepped out of the Ivory Tower - Work
As you may or may not recall, I took a new position back around Christmas. It has kept me very busy, and has also added an extra 2 hours a day to my commute time. I also work weekends every 6 weeks or so, getting into the trenches in order to fly the flag. - Health
I spent a week in a hop ital bed around Easter, then another 3 weeks on disability. It was not pleasant. And I am still getting back to my old self. It turns out I have diverticulitis. I can no longer eat seeds, nuts, corn kernels and the like. Last year in the February time frame, I had a similar bout, but not one that put me in the hospital. At the time, we thought it was food poisoning or maybe a fish bone caught in my system. You know those little ones you find in a fillet, and usually get jabbed in your tongue or cheek. Anyway, my lower intestine nearly exploded from a blockage most likely caused by my love of nuts as a snack food. No more wassabi covers sunflower seeds for SCSI... - Work, part 2
Coming out of hospital, I had a month of stuff to get caught up on. Two weeks into that, I was assigned as project manager to relocate a data-center from a site in Illinois to one in Pennsylvania. The deadline is the end of this month (July). I have been doing 50-60 hour weeks to make this happen, and will be spending the remainder of the month in Illinois to make it happen. - Knights of Columbus
I've been fairly active in general, and now I have taken an officers position and the role of webmaster for my council. This means more meetings, more Masses, more everything. And it all sucks up the time. - The relationship
I cannot recall if I said it before the hiatus, but the woman I have been dating since last October is very, very special. The dogs and I love her very much, and miss her shortly after she leaves.
She is no longer the girlfriend, she is now the fiancee, BTW. - The wedding
See above bullet. Must get the chapel, the reception hall, etc. - The motorcycle
Sorry, a good ride in good weather wins over blogging. Maybe I will bike blog after my evil project slows down. - Family and friends in general
While I have blog pals, my real world relatives and friends do take precedence - Apathy
Really, so much is already said elsewhere.
What does all this mean for the future? I really do hope to begin blogging more when my project slows down, and I can spend an hour or two each week on blogging. I enjoy it. I've been commenting on other blogs, but it has been hit and run, not in depth. Mostly troll smacking.
So, in time, I will see you all again my friends.
Hey, welcome back!
I empathize with you on the Diverticulitis. I had a similar, one-time problem like that back in October where they thought that's what I had. Proved to not be the case, but the following "examinations" and colonoscopy was *NOT* enjoyable in the least. Hope you are feeling better.

...and I'm having the apathy issue with my blog...I end up saying the same thing as someone else...
That's why I'm attemping to change the focus to my quest for the PGA teaching certification.

Diverticulitis blows. Several of my family have it.
Hang in there with the night courses.

Thank you Chris. It is a pain (on multiple levels), but I am coming to grips with it.

SCSI:
I've seen you post over at Wizbang a couple of times. Still busier than a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs?
