Heh. Here, to me, is the money quote from Chairman Kos himself
The worst possibility for us? Another Roberts. Would the American Taliban allow that to happen? They want red meat and expect O'Connor's replacement to be their reward for good behavior.
Yep. A serious legal mind who holds law above politics is the worst thing that could happen to a bunch like Markos.
Here's another fun one from the playpen, from lind123
If they could pick Satan, they would. As long as the devil is against judicial activism (that hurts Republicans) they would pick him.
And another, mlux, sees the crayon on the wall
Various Kossacks may rant and rave about punishing those who vote to confirm, but I see little evidence that anyone will actually care about this come election time. (I hope I'm wrong.)
Yep. When you back loser after loser and froth at the mouth as often as the kidz have, you tend to lose any credibility you once had.
Finally, Dmitri has a similar notion
Am I the only one... who senses that we were straightup IGNORED by the Senate Democrats on the issue of Roberts' nomination?By we, I mean the progressive blogosphere. This vote could have broken down exactly the same way back in the dark old days when blogs didn't exist. I feel as though we suffered some sort of defeat here. What are we going to do about it? We will have to take over the Democratic Party in the same fashion that folks like Gingrich, Dole, DeLay and others took over the Republican Party. Does anyone remember the name of the House Minority Leader under Tom Foley? Those were the good old days when there will still softy patsy, get along Republicans. I hope someday that we can look back at these days and laugh about how weak the Dems used to be.
Don't worry, Dimi, we already are laughing. :)
Well, that's as much dumpster diving as I can take. I already have a migraine, and too much of this can't be conductive for recovery.
