Roberts in, Koskidz begin suicide watch for the next nomination

Heh.  Here, to me, is the money quote from Chairman Kos himself

The worst possibility for us? Another Roberts. Would the American Taliban allow that to happen? They want red meat and expect O'Connor's replacement to be their reward for good behavior.

Yep.  A serious legal mind who holds law above politics is the worst thing that could happen to a bunch like Markos.

Here's another fun one from the playpen, from lind123

If they could pick Satan, they would. As long as the devil is against judicial activism (that hurts Republicans) they would pick him.

And another, mlux, sees the crayon on the wall

Various Kossacks may rant and rave about punishing those who vote to confirm, but I see little evidence that anyone will actually care about this come election time.  (I hope I'm wrong.)

Yep.  When you back loser after loser and froth at the mouth as often as the kidz have, you tend to lose any credibility you once had.

Finally, Dmitri has a similar notion

Am I the only one... who senses that we were straightup IGNORED by the Senate Democrats on the issue of Roberts' nomination?By we, I mean the progressive blogosphere. This vote could have broken down exactly the same way back in the dark old days when blogs didn't exist. I feel as though we suffered some sort of defeat here. What are we going to do about it? We will have to take over the Democratic Party in the same fashion that folks like Gingrich, Dole, DeLay and others took over the Republican Party. Does anyone remember the name of the House Minority Leader under Tom Foley? Those were the good old days when there will still softy patsy, get along Republicans. I hope someday that we can look back at these days and laugh about how weak the Dems used to be.

Don't worry, Dimi, we already are laughing. :)

Well, that's as much dumpster diving as I can take.  I already have a migraine, and too much of this can't be conductive for recovery.

When the children ran out of candy

Air America just took the money instead.

I wish I could say this sort of thing surprised me more than it did.  But it doesn't.  I am finding it hard to muster any anger over this.  I am angry, make no mistake, but this is just the latest of a long string of events.  Each proving that there isn't liberal bias in the media... no it's gone beyond that.  This is more like RICO level conspiracy to commit.  That is to say, not this latest incident, but the MSMs tendency to ignore, cover up or out right lie about the sins of liberalism and progressives.

Let's be honest, had even a single conservative talk show, let alone an entire network, taken a single dollar of money earmarked for poor or under privileged children, the NY Times, Washington Post, CNN and the rest of the usual suspects would be howling for blood.  The moonbats over at the DU would be barking themselves hoarse.  O-Dub, after he was doing yelling RACIST (part of a daily exercise routine to ensure he can do it as reflex when called upon) and cleaned the frosting off his lips (I hope that was Krispy Kreme on his lips after the meeting with his master Soros) would spare no effort in linking the radio personage to Bush, Rove, Satan, the NRA and perhaps Big Tobacco.  And of course, Aravosis and Rogers would work double time to find a gay connection to out over the incident.

This is why I haven't had the mojo to blog lately... with real life being very active, when I get home, I don't want to vent on the blog... I want to load up the Xbox and either use the Eagles to own the NFC or unleash insane destruction from multiple Kamehameha in DBZ Sagas. (Which, btw, after you beat Vegetta, isn't really all that hard.  I am hoping Cell is tough, because Frieza and the androids have been wussies)

Maybe I'll go online later, and regale you with the tales of my white trash neighbors... they got fined by the county for a fist full of violations over the weekend, so they are like an kicked ant hill over there...

The Liberul Shuffle

We all remember The Super Bowl Shuffle, right?  That dark day in both sports and music history, when the Chicago Bears thought it would be a good idea to rap?
Well, over at La Shawn's, a couple of the libs, lead by leading pseudo troll Actus, are doing what I call the Liberul shuffle.  You know the dance.  The one where you step around questions, through out feints, and basically do your best never to plant your feet on an issue, or to admit to your real position.
To honor this game, I've created The Liberul Shuffle (yes, I can spell, I choose not to)
Now, as you can see, there are lyrics yet to be written, and I am leaving that up to you, the reader. I will pick the best three to finish out the song.
Here are the rules:
You must pick a liberal politician, blogger or group blog, and match them up with Richard Dent, Gary Fennick or William Perry. (I'll pick the best from each to finish the song)  You must keep the overall rhythm and pace of the piece.  You must capture the inner soul of your target.  I know, some of them don't believe in souls, so this may be tough to judge.
You can find my first 3 verses under the fold, and the original Shuffle lyrics here
Oh, and actus is only give the honor of being featured with such big cheeses because he inspired me to take 10 minutes out of my day, and mock.  Happy Early Birthday. (no, I don't hate actus, but he does wear on my backside like a sandpaper thong somedays, like that annoying younger sibling or cousin we all know)

Suicide Bomber Strikes Afghan Mosque - NEWS - Comcast.net

Link: Suicide Bomber Strikes Afghan Mosque - NEWS - Comcast.net.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - A suspected al-Qaida suicide bomber walked into a mosque during the funeral of a Muslim cleric and blew himself up Wednesday, killing 20 people

Soooo, how many copies of the Koran were desecrated by this attack?  Last I checked, blood is a very unclean thing to muslim sensibilities, and getting some on the koran is a bad thing.  Not to mention what was inside the stomach, intestines and other organs.

And the Mosque itself... this can't be showing much respect for the sacrosanct space of worship that is a mosque.

Or is it only bad form when westerners show a lack of respect to the holy property of islam?

I'm waiting for Newsweek, Reuters and the rest to chime in on this...

In a related note, La Shawn chimes in on the kicking of Korans.  Sounds like a new sport.

UPDATE:  Michelle Malkin is tracking the Religion of Peace's treatment of American Icons, as a contrast to the Eeevil treatment we give to the koran.

Kansas City Star | 05/09/2005 | Senators reaping a questionable D.C. tax break

Link: Kansas City Star | 05/09/2005 | Senators reaping a questionable D.C. tax break.

Jay Tea over at WizBang covered the Boston Herald's article on Teddy's curious tax break.  A poster complained that Jay did not take Rick Santorum to task for the same thing.  Knowing that Santorum was being attacked by a bunch of Deniacs over a $70 homestead rebate in PA (the Deaners claim that he spends too much time out of state to call his home in Allegheny county his home!), I googled the whole matter.  Most of the reports are focusing on Teddy.  Not too much of a shock, as he is famous, rich, the biggest 'offender' and well known for acting above the law.

But this Kansas City Star article stand out.  The author, Matt Stearns, go's to pains to cover his own Senator (and he should, it's why he's paid!) and he posts the whole list of who, and how much.

And who are the benefactors?  Click the link or continue below for the listing.  My last 2 cents though... Santorum isn't on the list, but RINO Spector is.

An Open Thread for actus

For those of you who read my blog from time to time, and also frequent La Shawn Barber's Corner, you've probably met a young man named actus.  And you might have noticed that we rarely disagree.
More than once I've offered to continue a debate that has strayed from La Shawn's topics either here, or at actus' now defunct blog.  He has never risen to the challenge.
His most recent tirade about PBS and the Pope prompted me to offer again to take it off LB's board.
So, this thread will remain open.  For actus, and anyone else that wants to discuss the things at LBC that have gone beyond the pale.
No, this is not a bash-actus thread.  It is a debate in a forum without worry of offending the host.

Sanity in the Pentagon

Marine taped by Kevin Sites won't face court martial (hat tip, LGF)

Well, considering the kid gloves that deserters like Pablo Parede's have been handled with (Lt. Smash has the best coverage, btw, of patético  pablo) and the recent mistrial of Lynndie England, this is pleasant news.
I was concerned for this young man.  And this is the main fear I had about embedded journalists.  Some will be not be all that friendly to our soldiers, and just might be more interested in finding or creating an embarrasing situation to exploit than in honest reporting.
So, it is good to see that it was decided that this marine was doing his job, and not out slaughtering the defenseless for kicks.  Lets leave the war crimes to the professionals, like John Kerry.

Next up: getting Lt Pantano his day of redemption.

Pelosi helped donor to PAC -- The Washington Times

Via Deacon of Powerline

So, what is it with these elected representatives from California and their 'thee but not me' attitudes?

First, we have Bab's Boxer.. check bouncer extraordinaire, who takes every chance she gets to claim Republican's abuse power.

Now, Pelosi is caught with her hand in the cookie jar, funding her own donors projects...  read the article, read Deacon's commentary.

And ask yourself the same question Deacon asks... where is the outrage?  The NYT editorial page is silent on this... but Nancy is one of the anointed, so no shock there.  Where're the KosKiddies and O-Dubs?  Still too busy looking into Gannon, I suppose.  Or trying to get Brit Hume fired.  Or giving each other Cleveland Steamers.  No, I have proof or evidence of this, beyond the sheer joy they take in crapping all over everything else that comes their way... so why not each other?

CNN.com - Jury:?New Orleans prosecutor guilty of discrimination - Mar 31, 2005

Link: CNN.com - Jury:?New Orleans prosecutor guilty of discrimination - Mar 31, 2005.

Don't know why anyone would be suspicious of the firing of 53 of 77 people of one race.  And their replacement of another.  And with the new boss' stated goal of making his office look more like the city , for the life of me I don't know why anyone would doubt his claim that he didn't know the people let go were all of one race.

Now, when firing 1, 2 or 5 people, I can see no noticing, at a high level, that everyone shared something in common.  But when you fire nearly 7 out of 10 people of one racial backgroud, you don't get to claim ignorance.

What did he think he was running, the White House Travel office?
